We recently received a new visitor to our back garden. A fox that we came to call Vicky.
She has become a regular evening visitor that we have enjoyed during this summer of 2025.
This is our story of how became firm friends. We hope you like it.
Vicky’s first appearance in our garden was on the 10th June of this year, 2025.
We first noticed her around 10-45 pm .Since then she visits us at about the same tine each night.
However as the days are now getting shorter she comes regularly each evening just after twilight.
At first she was very shy and timid, but after talking to her in a gentle tone as I placed food for her close to me she began to get closer all the time.
It took about five weeks before she became brave enough to take food from my hand.
After she has had here fill, I usually give her a bigger helping which she takes with her presumably to give to any cubs she has. She often returns for a little extra, usually about 12 to 15 minutes later so I'm guessing that her home with her brood must be about six minutes from ours.
I am hoping that maybe in a few weeks we may see some of her brood following her here although we do not know how many she may have.
